Hope Center for Arts & Technology, Inc.

Hope Center for Arts & Technology, Inc. (HopeCAT), is a nonprofit that provides Adult Job Training in relevant career fields in our area.  We currently offer two programs: Phlebotomy and Medical Assistant (MA).  Both programs are at no cost to qualified students who get accepted.

Applications are only accepted online, and potential students must pass the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (basic verbal and math skills assessment) as a first step to continue the application process.  The MA program lasts for 10 months and runs Monday-Friday from 8:30am until 2:55pm, with every other Friday as a half day, which is reserved for make-up time.  The Phlebotomy program is 20 weeks and runs Monday-Thursday from 3PM-5PM.

All students are required to take a National Certification test at the end of both programs; 100% of our graduates have passed their national certification.  Our students have been gainfully employed with 90% of graduates becoming hired in the field.

HopeCAT is based on Bill Strickland’s education model, who started a free adult training program in Pittsburgh, coupled with free youth arts programs.  The centers believe that environment shapes behavior, and that all people are assets.  Located on the West Hill of Sharon, HopeCAT operates the same way, working with people who want to better their lives.

Our application period opens in January.  If you are 18 years of age or older, possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, can pass a PA state background check and drug screen, you can be considered for our Medical Assistant Program or our Phlebotomy Program.  To start your application process, please visit: www.hopecat.org and click “apply now” to fill out the application.  We look forward to having YOU!
